- The film review
This is a drama, sci-fi, thriller film based on a novel of Richard Matheson in 1954 directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Will Smith. It is about the last man who survive from virus in New York City and struggles valiantly to find a cure.
The challenge for Lawrence is to remake the film because this film was made many times. And it is hard to shoot some scene in New York.
There are many best things about the film. First of all, The acting of Will Smith is very good. He is excellent to proceed every scenes only by himself, especially the scene his dog, Sam, died. Secondly, in the exciting scene, the audience feel excited and thrilled while in the sad scene they also feel sad. Moreover, the soundtrack is so sad. Finally, a lot of flashback scenes in the film is good because it is not make the audiences confuse.
What is missing, however, it is too easy in the scene that the protagonist kills zombies by using bomb in spite they fight together for a long time. And the zombies are unrealistic.
The film ends with the protagonist can find a cure, but he died. In overview, the film is good in many ways.
